It’s time to submit your conference proposals!

Ahoy SHNM members,

We are looking at our upcoming conference now.  We are excited that our SHNM will be joint hosts with the North American Society for Oceanic History and the North Atlantic Fisheries History Association for the annual conference, this year in Portland, Maine, May 11-15, 2016.

The call for papers deadline is fast approaching on February 1.  Please make sure to consider your academic work and submit a paper proposal.  The details are attached.

Call for Papers

The Society for the History of Navy Medicine will co-sponsor an annual conference with the North American Society for Oceanic History and the North Atlantic Fisheries History Association in:

Portland, Maine, May 11-15, 2016.

The Program Committee welcomes submissions: Proposals should include: Panel/Paper Title, 250 word abstract of each paper to be presented, 200 word bio of presenter, and contact information (submit in 12-point Times Roman font and NOT as a PDF).

Please send an additional copy to your Society Executive Director, Dr. Annette Finley-Croswhite, acroswhi@odu.edu 

Please put: SHNM paper proposal in the Reference line of the email

We welcome complete panels and individual papers.

Proposal Submission Deadline: February 1, 2016.

The Society for the History of Navy Medicine offers one generous travel award for a graduate student presenting at the conference.

I'm an author and college professor who works on French terrorists in the 1930s and 1940s. I'm writing a new book right now with Gayle K. Brunelle called "Vengeance: Vichy and the Assassination of Marx Dormoy." I'm also focused on the French Holocaust. In March of 2013 I'll take students on a study abroad called Paris/Auschwitz.
